Someone sold us the idea that crocheting/knitting/cross stitching was relaxing.
Jokes aside, amigurumi (crochet toys) are a hell of a drug, and a lot of young people (mostly women of the geek kind) started crocheting to make their own favourite videogame/series character toys and created most of those groups.
The cross stitch groups have loads of sweary/snarky projects. The classic cross stitch pattern with a snarky turn. Aside from the geeky/nerdy projects.
They are full of young people (mostly women), but sometimes the most sectarian ones are in their late 30's to mid 40's. I've located a very few TIMs in there, TIFs are in a higher number.
There are still a bunch of groups that are more serious, where the participants are either from religious backgrounds or are older women, and have strict rules against anything offensive.
