As a result, kids mostly grow up either as little prisoners in houses behind displays, or being schooled (Even "formative" activities after school hours with adult supervision) for much of the day and being too tired to do anything else afterwards.
End results are dysfunctional adults who don't get anything all those efforts should have warranted for (You'll always meet someone with better grades or simply from a more prestigious school when competing in places where education actually matters, or just inclusive policies leaving you behind).
