The dialog was wonky and thin - "Lady Tano" all the time had us joking that he was a fedora neckbeard droid. It also just felt too long and not enough substance in each episode- it should be the first half of a season.
That and they changed characters too much. Erza was a whiny punk, not some hippie on Peyote.
