This is way more complicated than it needs to be and the notion of “owning my data” is blatantly false if it’s actually spread out amongst all the relays I have used.
If you can’t control what happens on the other end of your connection due to the inherent nature of nostr, then you should have as much control as you can on your side, right? There is no reason why you can’t create backups of your followers, mute lists and anything else that would be specific to you. Basically, what primal has done with their premium plan.
Being completely honest, I have you muted, but for whatever reason, here you are. This is obviously a relay issue that could be sorted if the option were added to the individual apps instead of relays that you have no control over.
It’s just my opinion as a humble iOS user, but priorities seemed to have placed popularity over basic functionality and it’s never going to catch on outside of the tech savvy world as long as it continues this way.
