I've run the sync command between different strfry versions and this does seem to be the notice for likely incompatible versions 0.9.7 to 1.0.1.
Are you using a timeout for relays that don't support negentropy yet? The connection and sync process seems to stay open indefinitely and the NOTICE messages range a lot to machine parse.
