Over the past few years, I've noticed that the visual gimmicks they use in youtube thumbnails / tiktok videos are beginning to look so kitschy that it has an alien feeling to it, like third-world or subcontinental in nature. Especially with the kind of life-hack or grindset content, which has exploded lately--it's like the internet is turning into some near-Eastern bazaar where everyone's trying to scam you and all the advertising has a tasteless sideshow quality to it.
