Running for weight loss is very inefficient.
Average person can run only for several minutes, burning from 10 to 20 kCal per minute, depending on their weight and other factors. So, in 10 minutes of running we can burn 100-200 calories. Eat one cookie and you get all the energy back.
The most effective weight loss method is fasting. You can lose 1500-3000 kCal daily when you don't eat.
The second best is walking. Average person can walk for several hours easily every day. Make it more interesting by listening to a podcast, audio book, talk to someone, or do something else, and you can easily lose 1000+ calories daily (300-400 kCal per hour).
To be able to maintain health and desired weight, it is very advantageous to lift weights and eat healthy food (meat and eggs). This way you will feel good and have the motivation and energy to live an interesting life.
