>Technically people who need glasses (like me) have disabilities. It's a common disability where changes have been made so people with visual impairment live better. Meanwhile people with different disabilities just ask for similar accommodations and thoughtfulness with designs and don't receive it.

Especially mental disabilities. Oh boy, does society possess bare-naked hate towards the mentally disabled. It's to the point that a lot of people refuse to believe mental illnesses even exist -- I hear this is very common in places like East and Central Asia, where "depression" is "that made-up excuse white people use to get out of work".

Long ago we were considered demon-possessed or burned at the stake for witchcraft, and not long ago we were rounded up and tossed in prisons with fancy titles like "New York State Psychiatric Institute" and "California Hospital for the Chronic Insane" just so normals wouldn't be bothered by misfits and weirdos. You know, people who could contribute to their birth nations just as well as anyone else if they were shown a little understanding and given a little leeway no less reasonable than handicapped parking spots and ramps for those in wheelchairs, or glasses for those who can't see well through no fault of their own. Imagine being screamed at "YOU JUST WANNA BE SPECIAL" because you would like to see as well as anyone else. Wouldn't that be irrationally cruel and plain old stupid?
