Although the Irish were not exactly embraced and beloved. I think it has more to do with Irish people not identifying so strongly as a tribe in America. We don’t get together and eat Irish food.
In fact, I would tell anyone with Irish Ancestry that they’re not Irish, they’re American. Because only people born in Ireland are really Irish.
