A hawk came after our chicks!
I was giving the gang some fresh air in the dirt, went to the other side of the lawn for a minute and heard a big squawk and hullabaloo. I ran back too late but my wife saw it from the house. A huge Comepollo (chicken hawk) swooped in for the chicks!
The mommy hen is fierce. I have the peck marks on my arm to prove it. She went full harpy on that hawk and sent it flying away. The pollitos were hiding, but all 6 accounted for.
