Funny how they ignored devastating flash floods happening elsewhere in the world but when it happens in Europe it becomes a problem. Still, I don't think we can do much to stop a disaster in progress once it begins, if we did want to avoid it we'd have killed Big Oil back in the 90s when it was most needed.

These changes we need work on long timescales and we could hit zero or fully go into the negative today yet would still be dealing with a crisis for a decade because of how the effects are cumulative and slow to have impact. That slowness is what made people complacent, easy to kick down the road but that complacency is what'll cost humanity, wildlife, everything in the end.
