Our escape from Vietnam towards refugee camps was thwarted twice by open seas pirates. They flew humanitarian aid flags til our boats got closer & just like in vid linked above - changed flags to skull & bones & plain red unmarked flags. My family witnessed several people shot & tossed overboard because they tried to keep their belongings or took too long to obey pirates' orders. My family witnessed live kidnappings & rapes by the pirates too. We came here with a lot of severe traumas, outside of just war traumas.
