Well first, I'd say for 10x the work, make sure the salary is at least somewhat commensurate...
But more generally as a mid-career person I've found that the question of "who" you're working for is almost more important than "what" you're working on... Work with people you respect and trust, and even a "bad" project can be made "great."
Conversely, work with people you don't respect and/or don't trust, and even a $billion idea will never get off the ground (or if it somehow does, odds are you'll get screwed out of it).
