The indieweb ( indieweb.org ) is a longstanding project to try and make an open social media ecosystem that can be built with simple public websites…. It’s both been incredibly influential and also completely failed at getting mass adoption. Mostly because it’s creators all wanted to build their own software from scratch, it is all hacker hobbyists and no people building software for a less technical audience.
That said, i think we should look at what they’ve done and learn from them for Nostr.
