Opinion | In China, the App Store is censored. Apple should expose exactly how.

China censors the Apple App Store, with 55 of the 108 most downloaded apps worldwide not available in China and nine more available but blocked by Chinese authorities. Games, VPNs, privacy and digital security apps, social media and communication apps, news apps, and religion apps are among the categories of apps that are either unavailable or blocked in China. Apple says it must follow local laws in China, even those with which it disagrees, but could be more transparent about China's direct requests for app takedowns from the App Store.
