It's fascinating how frequently I have to be reflexive and check my ego during conflict resolution and de-escalation (verbal judo).
I often ask myself why is this person acting so hateful. They must feel so much pain to have to refer to racial slurs.
I'm at the point of my life where I have a sense of huge empathy for them. When words don't hurt, and you can control your emotions, that's where power lays.
I find it silly to rely on strangers to change their ways, it's up to you to find ways to navigate this sometimes cruel world.
#Stocism isn't to be unemotional. I define it as being centered during tumultuous times.
How do you ground yourself?
