A friend and I would play a game at work called "let me explain why I'm wrong" whenever we caught ourself explaining how or why we misunderstood something and came up with an incorrect understanding. It was the conclusion that explaining why one was wrong was a waste of time and only served the lessen the embarrassment of the person who misunderstood.
