2/ Side note: the 6.9.y series was thus EOLed just two weeks after the succeeding mainline release (e.g. 6.10) was releasesed. IOW: right after the merge window for the second successor (6.11) ended.
Don't think any stable series was marked EOL this quickly up to now.
