By and large, history is on the side of civil disobedience and echoes with names like Rosa Parks and Gandhi.
Why don't politicians get that if significant numbers of people are prepared to break the law *and take the consequences* in order to protest against the government, then inventing new crimes they have committed is obviously authoritarian?
They have so much faith in political institutions that they cannot distinguish procedural from substantive justice.
