Years ago, during one of my travels off the beaten path, I discovered one of the mass burial site of the victims of the 1928 Hurricane in Port Mayaca, Florida. It was sobering.

This statue, which I didn’t find at the time / not sure where it is if it still exists, also commemorated that event.
