When we were doing network and OS security stuff at SDC we couldn't talk about it. But we got permission to work with RSRE (Royal Signals and Radar Establishment) in Great Malvern in the UK (we played croquette every day at lunch.)
The RSRE people were allowed to talk about our work, even on travel to Santa Monica. So although we could not tell our co-workers or others about what we were working on, our friends from RSRE could.
