One of the more unexpected experiences of this weekend’s trip to Richmond, VA was a robot delivering food to tables at a Mexican restaurant. It was faster than I expected and navigated the tables quite well, even stopping if it got stuck and waiting for human help to squeeze past tight chair spacing. I suppose it’s a little more stable than servers carrying seven sizzling fajita plates along their arms. Though, it still requires a server to move plates to the tables.
