What you call "imperialists" have this thing called "Conflict Minerals", which prohibits the trade and use of metals mined in such conditions. Its a pretty extensive effort, and for the last decade I watched it to become more and more effective - I happen to work on EU environmental regulations for a living - although I live in the US.
You might not respect it because its not perfect, and its created by the "imperialists", but your opinion about it has no effect on it whatsoever, we will keep using it and improving it.
