I can appreciate your principaled stance, but not sure what you expect to happen.
Do you honestly think you reduce this kind of behavior by any significant amount by demanding the money is given back?
I think you are doing more by just warning people. But maybe that is you're main intent.
It looks like intellectual property is pretty much going the way of the dinosaurs with AI generation, the ease of copying, ungovernable money, etc..
