My opinion: Something that seems to work but the maker can't say why or how. This is exactly how people end up getting rekt. It's cool for applications that aren't safety-critical. Have a blast. But just letting Jesus take the wheel for cryptography and other critical systems is retarded. It's just going to erode trust and respect for the profession and software if someone is dumb enough to "vibe" together a substantial system. That's shit code to me.
Good doesn't mean mistakes are never made. The difference is that an engineer can articulate why a decision was made and learn from errors as they are discovered. Rinse and repeat, making everyone better. AI will eventually help with that, of course, but it isn't there yet (if it ever will be) and people are going to FAFO. That's just what we do. I wouldn't trust anything AI outputs unless the "viber" can understand it and verify it, which makes it shit to me.
