I was there, in the European Parliament, talking to MEPs, when the Copyright Directive was being passed. Generative AI was not on anybody's radar.\n\nTDM meant things like collating databases and figuring out stuff based on that (science, investigative journalism, etc), not the dumpster fire of genAI.",
