Must-see/read reporting by Deutsche Welle and Spiegel about abusive work relationships at #MPG. It rightly notes: Max Planck Society's famous "Harnack principle" (top researchers as the de-facto kings or queens at the top of their own institutes) fits with abusing young researchers.
Though to me it seems well worth pointing out that the overly competitive concept of "excellent research" harbours the very same problem, far beyond MPG obviously?
