Non ephemeral events was my biggest complaint so thank you for addressing that.
I still think the design adds round trips and latency so it needs to be used carefully. Throwing things like search in to DVMs (instead of using NIP-50) makes no sense to me. Content discovery should probably have a special REQ/prefix instead of using DVMs. Then clients could just use relays normally and get events in one query.
If the DVM is just creating extra steps around talking to a relay it probably isn’t useful.
