That's not fixed yet unfortunately - for some US cases they've even managed to push the copyright window to 95 years.

It sucks, but from a strictly conservational point of view I'm a bit less concerned. Songs/pieces of music are usually stored in other forms too (music sheets, master recordings, vinyls, hard drives etc.), so most of them should (hopefully) still be around by the time they become of public domain.

Games are a bit different. Before platforms like Steam took over, they were strictly bound to a physical medium (cassette, CD-ROM or DVD). And there's no legal way of copying the content of those devices. Which means that, once the last CD-ROM is gone, the game is gone too - unless there are provisions in place to make it legal to copy them. At the very least for archiving purposes, and at best to create a marketplace to legally purchase old Nintendo/PS games without having to either hunt for a cassette/CD on eBay/flea markets/local libraries, or resorting to piracy.
