Podping turned out to be a pretty rich topic. Umbilical started as a stateless http proxy, suitable for deployment on edge worker platforms like Deno Deploy and Cloudflare Workers.
Podping adds a couple of new twists. The last release added a websocket proxy, enabling podpings to trigger PWA feed refresh. But this only works when the client is running, and only for edge worker platforms that support long running websocket connections...(continued)
