Continuing to play through A Link To the Past... The last Zelda game I ever played. #retrogaming
Just like Super Mario World did for SMB3, it took the same general world building, palette and aesthetics from the NES Zelda and upgraded and extended the entire game experience, from gameplay to graphics to story, to the 16-bit capabilities of the SNES.
Despite an overworld map that pales in comparison to any modern game, it still lends a surprisingly rich "open world" experience, with little secrets to discover around every corner.
