Trying to figure out next steps in dealing with the latest IEP dispute with the district.
I have a 2018 PowerPoint written by the now Assistant Superintendent, which she presented at a conference when she was the Director of Special Ed. It is a blueprint for denying parental requests. She claimed that denying requests was important as it kept power away from activist parents.
She also claimed there was little risk in doing so because districts could adjust their position during or after mediation if the parent pushed the issue.
No one at the district level knows that I have this document. And I can only confirm that the furner Superintendent has a copy of the letter written by the now Assistant Superintendent ...
I think I've decided what to do. Going to draft an email to the School Board and new Superintendent. They can either fix the issue or ignore it.
