#onthisday in 1367, a bunch of cities of the newly formed Hanseatic League, plus some more in Holland and Zeeland, formed an alliance to go to war against King Haakon VI of Norway and King Valdemar of Denmark. In the truce agreement with the King of Norway from 1370, 35 cities are named - the ones on this map. (Present day boundaries and Dutch coastline.) The Hanseatic victory in this war is often considered the height of the power of the Hanseatic League.
