Why do I adore animals that most people regard as pests? Simple: they are only pests because they have been so successful at surviving, adapting, and proliferating. If they were more scarce, then it would be easier for more people to see the beauty and often the majesty in these animals, and as a friend of justice, I choose to admire them while also pardoning those humans that need to defend their own homes, neighborhoods, and livelihoods from the same animals. I really see no contradiction.
