This week I've been mainly reading, no. 235.
Igiaba Scego's short novel Adua (2017) explore the exploitation of Somalia & Somalis by Italy & the Italians through an intertwined narrative fo a father & daughter, whose interiors are often imagined by each other than real. At time a lilt elliptical, this novel pretty effectively captures the pain of abandonment, female genital mutilation & (effective) slavery in a series of short vignettes of both characters life stories.
