People who are against custodial lightning wallets sound like this, "you shouldn't use that email service, you need to run your own email server."
Most users won't run their own email server. I'm a computer guy and I don't wanna run my own, even though I do run a lightning node.
The only time email achieved the necessary network effect was when Hotmail started giving out free email for everyone. It had a signature back to Hotmail in every message and it went viral. That's how lightning is gonna get the mass adoption it needs.
