There's been an uptick on discussion of Historical Materialism / Dialectical Materialism (HM/DM) here lately but also a great deal of confusion on what it actually is. So I thought I'd post some description and explanation, along with a bit of relevant historical implications and my own commentary.
Will start by saying that this is not a critique of dialectic logic, material analysis, or historical analysis. It is also not a critique of viewing history through the lens of class struggle. (1/15)
