I've been experimenting with DDG as my primary for several years now, & have found it's far less useful for technical problems - this would help explain why.
I was largely ignorant of the Google decline because I mostly only used it for really complex searches that were unlikely to be easily monetized - like, ColdFusion error messages, or very specific JVM-on-Windows configuration issues.
