We do have some document conversion plans in the future!
Not too sure about a djuvu workflow but pandoc supports many types of conversion, and we use Asciidoc for our client. If you can find an epub version, that's a pretty nice format to convert from.
In general, I think of pdfs as a 'terminal object' in the sense that if you need to do any document converting, do it before converting to pdf. Because once you're there, its a messy pain to change it to anything else.
