Russia cares far more about controlling Ukraine than the West does. Ukraine has now already lost firm US support, and Europe as well will eventually grow tired before Russia ever gives in. Trying to win this kind of war of attrition over something your opponent cares about so much more than you is only slightly less retarded than the US trying to outlast domestic insurgencies in places like Afghanistan - it's not happening, and only Sunk Cost Fallacy prevents Western leaders from realizing this.
Or maybe the goal really is to just prolong the war for as long as possible to maximize the number of White deaths, with no actual hopes for Ukrainian victory.
