Clearer plotting. Or rather, getting the activities of the antagonists to happen more on the page instead of in the background.
The editorial letter I paid for was encouraging about characterization and world building, but complained about the plotting or lack of it.
The detailed comments also hint that the editor missed some things I thought were being signaled, and possibly trusted the narrative too much.
