I extremely do not like the popular conflation of plagiarism (acknowledging that your work includes the ideas of others, in detail; an academic rule and good practice morally) and copyright infringement (violation of a state-sponsored monopoly on a creative work).
To abate plagiarism, all you need to do is cite your sources. That's it. On the other hand, citing your sources can be evidence that you have factually and knowingly infringed on some copyrights.
