It would be cool if everyone had their own local relay that would use this approach but not to let other people write, but to automatically cache your own posts and those from your web of trust. Other people can then get any posts of people you interact with from your relay. That would make it work a bit like the gossip protocol in Secure Scuttlebutt where you can share all the posts you downloaded with others, making the network much more decentralized and less reliant on big relays everyone uses which would then mainly be used for discovery. Not sure if something like this exists for Nostr yet, I've been away for a year 🤣
