Only one of my nine novels had flashbacks, and that was trying to paper over the cracks of a story that didn’t quite work (in retrospect).\n\nAnd yet, in my WIP, 50K of the first 70k words are flashbacks. Sigh. I’m hoping it works for the reader as well as it does in my mind. I'll find out when I throw it at my son in a month or so.",
