We got it all wrong! Life on Earth is all about bacteria. Multicellular life started with bacteria herding up some protozoans to form a protective barrier around their colonies. 3 billion years later and we are still serving as vehicles for bacteria. We even evolved intelligence to better protect our gut biome and let it spread everywhere on Earth, and reach the Space.
