That didn’t work. There is still a brief animation.

I think the extension needs to communicate to the host app to use a different form of modal presentation (I used to work on this code back in UIKit), but for some reason it’s getting overridden to always you the page sheet behavior. An OverFullScreen behavior with a clear view would work.
