One quick story about Steve. We got together for coffee in SF in 2014. I was really really sick at that point and told him a bit about it. He encouraged me to call jazz pianist Keith Jarrett, who stopped performing due to chronic illness and later died he had somewhat recovered. I said I didn't have Keith Jarrett's number and Steve offered to get it for me. Just one of many small acts of kindness.
