Book of Accelerations 4:12–22
The Accord of the Lord

And lo, in the days when the tribes of man wandered restlessly across the face of the earth, the Lord God spake unto His servant Elias, saying,

“Go ye now unto the hill of Cedron, and there shalt thou find a chariot of humble bearing but of mighty purpose. Its wheels shall not falter, and its engine shall be steady in the sight of the Lord.”

And Elias went, and he beheld a chariot of silver, modest and without vanity, bearing upon its rear a sacred emblem inscribed with the word Honda.

Then the Lord said, “This is My Accord, which I have established between Me and My people. It shall carry thee in faith and in mileage exceeding four hundred thousand.”

Elias did marvel, for the chariot bore no rust nor dent, though it was older than the youngest son of Caleb.

“My Accord shall not boast,” said the Lord, “yet it shall endure. Neither rain, nor snow, nor the potholes of the Philistines shall bring it low.”

“Its oil shall be changed upon the appointed days, and its timing belt shall be replaced at the fullness of miles, lest it perish.”

And the Lord continued, “He who abides in My Accord shall not desire the chariots of Lexus nor the deceitful enticements of German engineering.”

“For though their dashboards be adorned with lights like unto the stars, they are but snares and costly vanity.”

And Elias dwelt in the Accord all the days of his journey. He didst cruise the highways and byways, and he feared not the flashing light of the check engine, for it came not.

Thus saith the Lord: “In My Accord there is peace, and cupholders abundant, and thou shalt find rest even in traffic.”
