Can someone explain why Bitcoin will actually be able to scale? I want it to succeed, but i don't understand the end-game mechanics.
At 7 tx/second that's 221 million tx/year. That's roughly enough for every adult in the U.S. to do one on-chain transaction per year. We can safely expect that in practice, eventually it's the wealthy who will be most willing to pay the fees. Does this not lead to a reality where most people in the world live on L2's?
I have listened to many, many, many talks about Bitcoin and I have never once heard anyone make this admission. Is it not true? Willing to learn.
