A (60’s+ male) customer put his hands on me today in a very inappropriate way while I was reaching for an item at his request that he could have easily reached himself. He was with his more elderly MOTHER. It was on tape, and my managers looked at the tape and said he’d be thrown out if he ever came in again— if anyone would even recognize him. He was in the store for hours calling employees by their names, and eventually learned mine. It was predatory behavior. I don’t know if there’s anything I can do to advocate for myself in this situation. In the moment, all I could do was yell DON’T TOUCH ME!— and he LAUGHED.
Funny (not) enough, he wasn’t the first male customer to put his hands on me that day, and one woman right after. I can go months without customers being handsy, this was a bad day. I feel dirty and violated.
